Heineken Green Room ft. Freeway

Are you ready for October’s Heineken Green Room?

The legendary Freeway will be gracing the stage this month just for Insiders!

Freeway’s ferocity, unvarnished honesty and tenacity has taken him from battle rapping on the  streets of North Philadelphia to hip hop legacy at the top of his game. In June of 2018, the Roc Nation recording artist released his sixth studio album Thinking Free, which received praise from XXL,Complex and Ebony.

Make sure to arrive early for a very special Green Room experience, with DJ Lean Wit It providing the sounds in Philly and DJ Soul providing the sounds in New York.

Join us in Philly on the 22nd  and in New York on the 23rd.

Heineken Green Room ft. VanJess

Are you ready for September’s Heineken Green Room?

We’re excited to have R&B duo and sisters, Ivana and Jessica, better known as VanJess, take the Heineken Green Room stage at Pub Webb.

Inspired by the sounds of Janet Jackson, TLC, and SWV, VanJess puts a contemporary spin on soulful 90s style music. Since the release of their EP 00 till Escape in 2015, which charted on iTunes top ten and trended worldwide, VanJess has appeared on Colors and collaborated with fellow artists Goldlink and Masego.

This past July, the duo released their new debut album, Silk Canvas, which was met with critical acclaim from Pitchfork, OkayAfrica, and Saint Heron.

Join us in Philly on September 26th and in New York on September 27th.

A Dream Deferred: Redlining, Past, Present, Future

Using art, technology, and media, A Dream Deferred tells the story of how race and policy shape the landscape of Philadelphia and the lives of its residents. The project, named for a poem by Harlem Renaissance writer Langston Hughes, will explore what happens when people and cities are restricted from reaching their true potential.

Experience multimedia storytelling through interactive touchscreen mapping, a large-scale art installation by Shawn Theodore, and short documentary film. Visitors will also have a chance to share their personal reactions in a private confessional booth.

Opens September 21 through November 17
600 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA
Free Admission

Complementing the exhibit is a community panel series seeking to examine the myth of meritocracy.
