Asian Arts Initiative

Asian Arts Initiative (AAI) partnered with Little Giant Creative to develop an interactive timeline project showcasing the historical journey of the Callowhill/Chinatown North and Chinatown neighborhoods. Initially archived for AAI’s People:Power:Place cultural plan, the timeline’s comprehensive research was reimagined as a standalone interactive interface. AAI’s vision was to create an engaging web based app that would enable visitors to explore the neighborhoods’ history, from the 1800s to the present day.

LGC designed a visually captivating timeline and an intuitive user interface, ensuring seamless navigation for a better user experience to  effectively represent the historical evolution of the neighborhoods. The user-friendly web-based app allows visitors to effortlessly navigate and explore significant dates and milestones. Research was conducted to source relevant imagery + ensuring visual assets to accompany the timeline’s content.

LGC provided support for the installation, such as displays and interactive touchscreens, and ensured the app operated smoothly at AAI’s designated location within its flagship building. The project fulfilled the objectives of delivering an immersive and educational experience to foster community connections and celebrate the cultural heritage of the Callowhill/ Chinatown North and Chinatown neighborhoods.
